The first live NBA action of the week arrives on the morning of Friday 15 March, as the Portland Trail Blazers play host to the New York Knicks.

Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau has praised the impact of Josh Hart in his first full season with the New York team: “I think Josh has done a really good job as well. I think he’s found a good niche in terms of pushing the ball,” he explained.

“Different actions like posting up some is good for him. The transition game is great. It allows Jalen [Brunson] to play off the catch more. Josh is good with starters, he’s good with the bench, he’s good with everyone. We knew that from last year. I think he’s really gotten into a good rhythm too.”

The morning of Saturday 16 March and the evening of Sunday 17 March sees the Denver Nuggets tour Texas, with clashes against the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Mavericks respectively.

The Nuggets are looking to push for the playoffs at this stage of the season: “In this league, you have to win the games you’re supposed to win on paper,” coach Michael Malone said.

“And I think overall, we’ve done an outstanding job of beating the teams that are below .500. We have to start our playoff push now. Not that we’re going to go [unbeaten] the rest of the way, but we have to have that mindset.”

The midweek of Wednesday 20 March brings a clash between the Brooklyn Nets and the New Orleans Pelicans, and the week’s action is rounded off on the morning of Thursday 21 March when the Philadelphia 76ers visit the Phoenix Suns.

The Suns have built their team around the trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, though the impact of players such as Grayson Allen has added depth to their roster.

“It's a little bit of a feel, but a lot of it is that I understand our team goes where (Booker, Durant and Beal) go,” Allen said. “They're going to lead us on both ends of the floor. So offensively, whatever shot-making I'm doing has to help the offence as a whole.”
