SuperSport GOtv Premier League is set to be your home for classic ‘David v Goliath’ clashes from the oldest knockout football competition in the world, the FA Cup, which will feature Third Round Proper matches running from 4 to 8 January, including Fulham v Rotherham (Friday 5 January at 22:00), Sunderland v Newcastle United (Saturday 6 January at 14:45) and Arsenal v Liverpool (Sunday 7 January at 18:30).

Serie A will also feature strongly this week, with Round 19 action being played from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 January. The key clash arrives early on Saturday afternoon (13:30) as Scudetto favourites Inter Milan play host to Verona at the San Siro Stadium.

“We cannot underestimate any opponent,” said Inter manager Simone Inzaghi. “We have rivals in the title race who will capitalise on any mistake. We have to keep our levels and concentration at the peak of what we can achieve.”

There will also be thrills and spills from the WWE Universe, with a live episode of SmackDown on the morning of Saturday 6 January (03:00), as superstars on the main rosters continue to jostle for position ahead of the Royal Rumble later in the month.

Randy Orton’s return from long-term injury and signing for the SmackDown side of WWE has disrupted the picture at the very top of the mountain – with ‘The Viper’ promising that he is coming for Roman Reigns.

“Tell Roman, ‘Daddy’s home’,” Orton said to Reigns’s ‘Wise Man’ Paul Heyman. “He’s had it way too easy without me being here to hunt him down, but the holiday’s over for the ‘Tribal Chief’. I’m coming for the throne. I’ve worn the undisputed championship belt 14 times before... I think it’s high time I added to that.”

The Zambia Super League continues unabated in the New Year, with three matches on the weekend: Napsa Stars v Green Buffaloes, Nkwazi v Power Dynamos (Saturday 6 January at 13:00 and 15:00 respectively) and Prison Leopards v Zesco United (Sunday 7 January at 15:00).
